Responsibilities 

The HVAC Refrigerant Loop Release Engineer is responsible for the development and validation of the automotive A/C lines and A/C Compressor. The candidate will ensure the A/C lines and Compressor meet performance objectives and will coordinate development with other functional areas such as BIW Under hood, Aero/Thermal, Engine Cooling, and suppliers. Duties will include writing source packages, specifications, requirements, change notices and overall supplier management to meet program timing and deliverables. The candidate will maintain a component DVP&R, Candidate will also support pilot build process at the assembly plant for development and installation of HVAC refrigerant loop components. 

Education 

Bachelor of Science (Engineering) from an ABET accredited university 

Basic qualifications, experience, and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university.  
  • 3-5 years of experience in HVAC and duct design/development. Other related design experience (Engine cooling, Aero-Thermal) also a plus. 
  • Strong PC + MS Office skills required. Excellent written, verbal and listening skills along with strong interpersonal skills.  
  • Self-starter and motivated to produce results.  
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA). 
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R). 
  • Basic thermodynamics knowledge. 

Preferred qualifications  

  • Experience in A/C lines and Compressors a plus. 
  • Experience using CAD software (NX, Catia, etc.) 
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).  
  • Basic knowledge in Thermodynamics. 
  • Automotive assembly plant experience.
