Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Plant EHS Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and minimizing environmental impact. This position requires a strong understanding of EHS regulations, a proactive approach to risk management, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement EHS programs and policies:Conduct EHS audits and inspections to identify and assess hazards.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address identified hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain EHS documentation, including incident reports, training records, and permits.
  • Conduct EHS training and awareness programs:Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, including new hire orientations, refresher courses, and specialized training on specific hazards.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings to raise awareness of EHS issues.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the workplace.
  • Manage EHS emergencies:Develop and maintain emergency response plans (e.g., fire, spill, evacuation).
  • Conduct emergency drills and exercises to test preparedness.
  • Respond effectively to EHS emergencies.
  • Investigate and analyze incidents:Conduct thorough investigations of all workplace incidents, including accidents, near misses, and environmental releases.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and control environmental aspects:Monitor environmental emissions and discharges to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Implement waste minimization and recycling programs.
  • Manage environmental permits and licenses.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments:Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and other departments to identify and address EHS concerns.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other departments on EHS matters.
  • Stay current on EHS regulations and best practices:Attend industry conferences and training courses to stay updated on the latest EHS developments.
  • Maintain professional certifications (e.g., CIH, CSP, etc.) as required.
